TrueRoute SW Logistics is expanding its network of reliable subcontractor van owner-drivers across the South West and nationwide.
We operate a flexible availability pool for independent owner-drivers who want access to direct commercial freight, same-day haulage and urgent courier work without being tied to fixed shifts or regular delivery routes.
Once registered, suitable jobs may be offered to you based on your vehicle type, location and availability. You are free to accept or decline individual jobs with no obligation to accept work.

How It Works
1. Register Your Interest
Complete the online registration form and provide your driver, vehicle and insurance details.
2. Join Our Availability Network
Once approved, your details are added to our subcontractor network.
3. Receive Suitable Job Opportunities
When a suitable commercial job becomes available, we may contact you with the relevant details, including collection, delivery, vehicle requirements and agreed rate.
4. Choose Whether to Accept
You decide whether the job works for you. There is no obligation to accept individual jobs.
5. Complete the Job
Once accepted, you complete the collection and delivery in accordance with the agreed instructions.
Indicative Earning Rates
Our typical day-rate ranges are:

Small Van / SWB | £130 – £160+ per day
MWB | £170 – £200+ per day
LWB / XLWB | £210 – £260+ per day
Luton Box Van with Tail Lift | £270 – £320+ per day
Long-Distance Earning Potential
Long-distance work can provide opportunities to earn above the standard day-rate ranges.
Additional earning potential may come from:
- Greater total mileage
- Longer-distance A-to-B runs
- High-value commercial consignments
- Suitable backloads
- Paid return legs
- Multiple compatible jobs
Rates will vary depending on the individual job, mileage, vehicle requirements and other commercial factors. Rates are agreed before a job is accepted.
Vehicle Requirements
We welcome owner-drivers operating:
- Small Vans
- SWB Vans
- MWB Vans
- LWB Vans
- XLWB Vans
- Luton Box Vans
- Luton Box Vans with Tail Lifts
Your vehicle must be suitable, road legal, maintained to an appropriate commercial standard and capable of safely carrying the type of freight assigned.
Driver Requirements
To join the TrueRoute SW Logistics subcontractor network, you must have:
- Your own or leased commercial vehicle
- Valid Hire & Reward / Courier Insurance
- Goods in Transit (GIT) Insurance — minimum £25,000 cover
- Valid Public Liability Insurance
- A valid UK driving licence
- No more than 6 penalty points, subject to review
- The legal right to work in the UK
- A reliable and professional approach to commercial work
Your Goods in Transit insurance must provide adequate cover for the type and value of commercial freight you may be asked to transport. A minimum £25,000 GIT policy is required to join the network.
Additional documentation or information may be requested during registration and onboarding, including proof of insurance and vehicle details.
Independent Subcontractor Status
Drivers joining the TrueRoute SW Logistics network operate as independent subcontractors.
Joining the network does not guarantee a minimum number of jobs, hours or income. Work availability will depend on customer demand, vehicle requirements, location, mileage and other operational factors.
You remain responsible for your own vehicle, insurance, operating costs, tax and other obligations associated with working as an independent owner-driver.
Driver Referral Bonus
Know another reliable owner-driver who could benefit from joining the TrueRoute network?
Earn a £50 referral bonus for every driver you introduce who:
1. Registers with TrueRoute SW Logistics using your referral;
2. Successfully joins the subcontractor network; and
3. Completes their first three qualifying runs with us.
The £50 referral bonus becomes payable once the referred driver has completed the required three qualifying runs.
