Excel Supply are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Telford for a August start
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire students and develop their practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and understanding of food preparation and safety. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that encourage creativity, confidence, and a lifelong interest in food and healthy living.
The role will involve:
- Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Preparing practical lessons while ensuring a safe and well-organised learning environment
- Teaching food preparation, nutrition, hygiene, and health and safety practices
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
- Encouraging creativity, independence, and confidence in practical and theory-based learning
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider Design and Technology department
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A passion for delivering engaging and practical lessons
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to motivate students of all abilities
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
