Based in Newport on Tay, Fife, Gigaton CO2 is a UK company developing carbon capture technology, now moving from several years of research to commissioning and testing a large scale field prototype.
We are looking for a hands-on engineer to join a small team where you will be involved in everything: detailed design, procurement and supplier liaison, fabrication oversight, assembly, instrumentation, commissioning and test.
This is not only a desk role. You will spend significant time in the workshop and on-site, and the work you do will directly shape the machine that gets built. There is flexibility to work from home for design and desk-based tasks when the plant does not need you.
We are ideally looking for a qualified mechanical or process engineer with practical build experience, but we are equally interested in hearing from experienced workshop managers, senior technicians or fabricators who can read a drawing, solve problems at the bench, and want to step up into an engineering role.
What matters most is practical competence, judgement, and the ability to take a job from concept to working hardware. If you have built, fixed or commissioned real equipment (process plant, HVAC, test rigs, prototypes, machinery) and want to work on climate technology that matters, we want to hear from you.
