Don Electronics is part of the Braime Group, a friendly, family run business with a 70 year history in business. We are a well established electronics design and manufacturing business and have a modern purpose built building in Yeadon ( Leeds), which is well located for public transport routes.
We currently have a vacancy for a new full-time permanent role in our busy Supply Chain & Admin team as Goods-In & Admin Assistant.
This role will be an on-site role, based at our Leeds manufacturing facility in Yeadon for 30 hours per week (Monday to Thursday).
This is a cross-departmental function with the purpose to provide administrative and warehouse support to enable the continued running of on-site operations. You will work within a team to help support the day to day running of the business and ensure processes run smoothly.
Working with the Engineering and Production departments to ensure the supply chain is efficiently maintained and continually improved to support the business needs. Provide front line relationship with our customers and suppliers on an ongoing basis and achieving the highest level of service to our internal and external customers.
Due to the nature of some of the physical tasks, such as heavy lifting tasks, it is important that you are fit and healthy.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:-
1. Booking in deliveries in conjunction with suppliers and take ownership of the receipt of goods.
a) Adhere to and review systems and procedures, suggesting improvements where necessary.
b) Unpack, accurately label and store goods in the allocated storage area.
c) Prepare, process and record goods/delivery documentation.
d) Update inventories and undertake stock counts.
e) Liaise with the person who is expecting the delivery to ensure they are aware goods have been delivered.
f) Inspect incoming deliveries and verify contents accuracy and quality. Ensure all non-conforming goods are quarantined and liaise with suppliers to rectify.
Daily: Incoming Goods: Checking and internal distribution. Ensuring we have all relevant paperwork, including Certificate of Conformities.
Checking against drawings, signing off and putting away in designated bay etc. Booking onto Winman and scanning.
Weekly: Stock checks on Critical Components and Consumables.
2. Implement and maintain a consistent stock control system that continually meets the needs of the business and our customers.
a) Effective storage and labelling of stock, assisting with and carrying out stock takes.
b) Awareness of production schedules to ensure supplies are in-line with current and forthcoming demands.
c) Ensuring the quality of stockholding date through review of actual stock levels.
3. Miscellaneous & General
a) Ensure adherence to company policy/procedure with particular reference to Health & safety and Security.
b) Support & Cover Stores & Goods-In/Out when required.
c) Office Administration duties
d) Support other areas of the business when required.
e) Ad-Hoc Stock Taking.
The above tasks are the key aspects of the role but, like any other role, it is not possible to specify every single task and requirement of the role and you are required to carry out any reasonable task required of you.
Competence:-
a) Essential
(i) Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
(ii) IT literate. Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel & Outlook).
(iii) Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
(iv) Ability to operate in a team environment.
(v) Fork lift licence and clean UK driving licence.
(vi) Ability to prioritise workload.
b) Desirable
(i) A background in electronics manufacturing.
(ii) Experience in supply chain work.
(iii) Experience of goods in/out, warehousing, logistics etc.
Knowledge:-
a) Essential
(i) Previous Supply Chain experience.
(ii) Experience in a warehouse or distribution operation.
b) Desirable
(i) Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
(ii) Knowledge of working with the Winman MRP software package
(iii) Familiar with packing and labelling.

Pay: From £12.82 per hour
