Job Summary
We are a wedding and events catering company seeking a passionate chef to join our small team, This role would give you the opportunity to do a bit of traveling cooking at some of the finest venues in Scotland including the islands. The ideal candidate would have there own ideas that could help the business grow. a driving licence would be a massive advantage as driving a van would be part of your duties.
Responsibilities
- Supervise kitchen staff and manage daily operations to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications and customer preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency in quality and presentation.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
- Foster a positive team atmosphere that encourages collaboration and creativity within the kitchen.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management.
- In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a passion for mentoring others in culinary skills.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
