Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and organisation within the clinic. Duties
- Assisting dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including preparing instruments and materials.
- Ensuring patient comfort and providing reassurance throughout treatments.
- Taking and developing dental radiographs as required.
- Managing patient records accurately using IT systems and maintaining confidentiality.
- Providing pre- and post-treatment care instructions to patients.
- Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment to meet infection control standards.
- Organising appointment schedules and managing patient flow efficiently.
- Supporting the team with administrative tasks such as stock management and ordering supplies.
- Communicating clearly with patients regarding treatment plans, aftercare, and general enquiries.
Requirements
- Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with dental practice management software.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to reassure anxious patients.
- Relevant nursing qualification or certification recognised within the UK healthcare system.
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
