Exciting career opportunities have arisen with West Valley Home. We are looking for Bank Residential Support Workers to work within our mixed gender Children’s Home. The home is registered for young people aged 8 years to 18 years.

Overall Purpose of Role
To provide an effective service to young people within the context of the organisation’s policies and procedures. To work as a member of the team. To provide care, guidance, control and support to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. To work with their families and support them to build positive relationships with their children.
Requirements of the post
- Preferably a Level 3 Diploma Children’s Workforce in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Experience of working with young people, preferably in a residential home
- Experience of working with children with low self-esteem and challenging behaviours
- Supporting young people with complex needs, including health needs and interventions, including medication administration
- Committed to the vision of working to the ethos and culture of West Valley
This is a bank staff role on a 0 hours contract, meaning there are no guaranteed hours. You will be called upon as and when required to meet the needs of the service, including covering sickness, annual leave, emergencies, or additional staffing requirements.
Shifts may include 15 hour day shifts, waking nights, or day and sleep-in duties, depending on the needs of the home.
As part of the role, there may be occasions where you are expected to meet the needs of the service at short notice to cover sickness or emergencies. This may mean that you may need to stay on shift beyond the expected finish time and complete additional hours. Due to the nature of the service, you cannot leave the home until suitable cover is obtained.
