Gateshead College are seeking a Casual Acting for Screen Tutor to deliver high-quality practical acting sessions within evening course provision.
You will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating engaging Acting for Screen sessions, supporting learners to develop performance skills for film, television and digital media. The role will involve preparing students for industry expectations, supporting the development of filmed performances and showreel material, and contributing to collaborative projects with media and production teams.
The successful candidate will have professional experience within acting, screen performance or the wider film and television industry, alongside experience of supporting young people to develop their creative and performance skills.
This role would particularly suit a professional actor, screen performer, acting coach or creative practitioner with experience in film and television who is passionate about developing the next generation of talent.
What we're looking for:

Deliver engaging Acting for Screen sessions to college learners
- Teach the differences between screen acting and stage performance
- Support learners with script breakdown, character development and performance preparation
- Develop students' understanding of emotional truth, subtext and naturalistic performance techniques
- Facilitate rehearsal processes and support scene work with partners
- Deliver genre-based acting workshops and performance activities
- Support students in creating self-tapes, filmed scenes and professional showreel content
Skills & Experience

Professional experience in acting for screen, film, television or digital media
- Strong understanding of screen acting methodologies and rehearsal techniques
- Knowledge of script analysis, character development and performance preparation
- Experience of self-taping and filmed performance processes
- Understanding of industry expectations, casting processes and professional practice
Qualifications

Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Acting, Performing Arts, Drama or a related discipline (desired)
- Recognised industry training or substantial professional acting experience
