Join our Payroll Team as a Payroll Coordinator. You’ll be part of a supportive team that strives for operational excellence while fostering a people-focused culture.

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll liaise with colleagues nationwide, including those at our York Central Office and across our practices. Key responsibilities include:

Running the monthly payroll for all Group companies, ensuring timely and accurate input of data from timesheets, overtime, etc.

Ensuring compliance with starter and leaver documentation (e.g. P45s).

Managing PAYE/NI payments and reconciliations.

Producing P11Ds and P60s within required timelines.

Ensuring compliance with auto-enrolment requirements for all companies and employees.

Reviewing, maintaining, and administering expense claims in line with HMRC regulations.

Managing HMRC communications, including RTI.

Handling payroll, HMRC, and employee queries.

Supporting the Payroll Manager in achieving Group strategy, goals, and objectives.

Carrying out any other duties appropriate to the role.
About you:
You’ll be a team player who is professional, approachable, and able to work both independently and under pressure. Confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy are essential.
What we’re looking for:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office and payroll software.

Highly organised with the ability to multitask effectively.

Experience in a similar payroll role.

Up-to-date knowledge of HMRC regulations related to payroll and timesheets.

Experience with Dayforce payroll (desirable, not essential).
Desirable:
-
A professional payroll qualification, such as Certificate in Payroll Administration, Payroll Technician Certificate, or a Degree/Diploma in Payroll Management.
The finer details (pro rata):
Salary: Up to £30,000 FTE Pro-rata (depending on experience).-
Location: York Central Office with hybrid working—minimum 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.

Hours: Full-time (Mon–Fri, 37.5 hours)

Leave: 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (FTE).
