We are recruiting an exceptional UHNW Senior / Lead Housekeeper to join an established household team supporting a private Principal and their family in London. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced luxury housekeeping professional to take on a senior, hands-on role within a prestigious private residence.
The successful candidate will bring impeccable housekeeping standards, exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership skills and a genuinely hands-on approach. This is a highly trusted position requiring absolute discretion, professionalism, flexibility and emotional intelligence.
Working closely under the House Manager, the Senior / Lead Housekeeper will support the wider household team and ensure the property operates seamlessly and consistently to the highest possible standards.
This is not a purely supervisory role. The successful candidate must be hands-on, willing to lead by example and confident stepping in wherever required, while maintaining exceptional personal standards and supervising the wider housekeeping team when needed.
- Maintain impeccable housekeeping standards throughout the residence
- Lead by example, remaining hands-on and actively involved in day to day housekeeping
- Supervise, support and guide members of the wider housekeeping team when required
- Work closely with the House Manager to ensure the household runs efficiently and seamlessly
- Ensure bedrooms, bathrooms, guest areas, living spaces and service areas are maintained to exceptional standards
- Demonstrate an exceptional eye for detail and identify areas needing attention without direction
- Prepare guest areas and entertaining spaces to the highest possible standard
- Support private entertaining, dinners, events and special occasions
- Work collaboratively with the Butler, chefs, chauffeurs, security and other household staff
- Communicate household matters clearly and professionally to the House Manager and senior staff
- Assist with the organisation and prioritisation of daily housekeeping duties
- Help maintain consistency of standards across the wider household team
- Handle fine china, silverware, crystal, artwork, furniture and fabrics with appropriate care
- Assist with inventories, stock levels, purchasing and receiving deliveries where required
- Respond calmly and professionally to changing schedules and high pressure situations
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the Principal, family, guests and household affairs
- Carry out other reasonable duties consistent with a private UHNW household
The ideal candidate for this Senior Housekeeper role in London will have:
- Previous experience as a Senior Housekeeper, Lead Housekeeper, Head Housekeeper or similar role within a UHNW or HNW private household and/or 5 star luxury hotel
- Exceptional knowledge of luxury housekeeping standards within prestigious private residences
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience
- A genuinely hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example
- Outstanding attention to detail and an uncompromising approach to presentation and cleanliness
- Impeccable personal presentation and grooming
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A naturally discreet, calm and professional personality
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to work with a large household team
- The ability to anticipate requirements and work proactively
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- The ability to remain composed and effective when priorities change
- Confidence working around Principals, family members, VIP guests and senior staff
- The ability to work independently while supporting a larger household team
- Excellent cultural awareness and professional etiquette
- Strong knowledge of luxury fabrics, surfaces, finishes and appropriate care techniques
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and adjust to household requirements
- Good IT skills are desirable
