- Salary: £14.50 per hour
- Hours: Minimum 35 hours per week (up to 40 hours available if preferred)
- Contract: 9-month maternity cover (with the possibility of extension)

Fairytales Nursery is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our friendly team on a maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the leadership of a welcoming nursery where children are encouraged to learn, explore and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll help lead the team, maintain high standards of care and education, and ensure every child receives the very best start in life.
Responsibilities
As our Deputy Nursery Manager, you will:
- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.
- Lead, motivate and inspire the nursery team to deliver exceptional childcare and education.
- Ensure the nursery provides a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for every child.
- Promote high standards in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
- Support staff development through coaching and day-to-day guidance.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure nursery policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
Skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A positive, supportive and approachable attitude.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding.
- Well organised with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Passionate about delivering outstanding childcare.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Room Leader or Senior Practitioner within an early years setting.
- Experience supporting and leading an early years team.
- Experience preparing for or supporting Ofsted inspections is desirable.
