Aloft by Marriott Manchester City Centre
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Concierge to join the opening team at Aloft by Marriott Manchester City Centre.
As one of the first people our guests meet, you will play an important role in creating a warm, welcoming and memorable experience. You will help guests make the most of their stay by providing local recommendations, arranging transport, assisting with luggage and responding confidently to a wide range of requests.
This is a hands-on, guest-facing role for someone who knows Manchester, enjoys meeting people and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and assist with luggage on arrival and departure.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations for restaurants, bars, entertainment, shopping and local attractions.
- Arrange taxis, transport, restaurant reservations and other guest requests.
- Offer clear directions and practical travel advice.
- Assist guests with deliveries, luggage storage and collection.
- Support the Front Office team during busy arrival and departure periods.
- Build strong relationships with local venues, transport providers and visitor attractions.
- Anticipate guest needs and look for opportunities to create memorable experiences.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, requests and concerns.
- Maintain a welcoming, organised and presentable lobby and entrance area.
- Communicate important guest information clearly to relevant hotel departments.
- Follow all hotel procedures relating to security, health and safety, guest privacy and the handling of personal belongings.
- Promote the hotel’s facilities, food and beverage outlets and Marriott Bonvoy programme.
- Act as a confident ambassador for Aloft, Marriott and the city of Manchester.
About You
You will be naturally friendly, approachable and confident, with a genuine passion for hospitality and Manchester.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a hotel, concierge, front-office or customer-service role.
- Excellent knowledge of Manchester city centre and its restaurants, nightlife, attractions and transport links.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to anticipate what guests may need.
- The confidence to handle guest requests and resolve problems calmly.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a busy hotel team.
- A professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Previous experience within a Marriott-branded hotel would be beneficial but is not essential.
What We Are Looking For
