Lunch Collection & Kitchen Assistant (Part-Time)
Monday to Friday 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
We are looking for a reliable, organised and friendly Lunch Collection & Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery team. This is an important role, ensuring our children receive their hot lunches on time while maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Collect hot lunches from our Verwood setting.
- Transport meals safely and hygienically to our Redhill setting in Bournemouth.
- Ensure food arrives on time and is transported in accordance with food hygiene procedures.
- Check food temperatures where required.
- Dish up and serve lunch for the children.
- Wash up and clean the kitchen and equipment after lunch.
- Prepare afternoon tea for the children.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked.
- Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
- Carry out any other reasonable kitchen duties as required.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Access to a reliable vehicle.
- Motor insurance that includes business use.
- Vehicle must be roadworthy, taxed and have a valid MOT.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work to deadlines.
- Friendly, caring and able to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to lift and carry insulated food containers safely.
- Comfortable working in a busy childcare environment.
Desirable but not essential as training will be given
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or childcare setting.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete one).
- Knowledge of food allergies and dietary requirements.
