Job description
Field Engineer
Salary: TBC
The engineer will be expected to attend customer sites to complete Installation and Maintenance work on the Northern Ireland PC’s ,Printers ,scanners, EPOS, Comms and network equipment. They may also be required to work On-site locations. The Engineer will also be responsible for managing through stock rotation of faulty spares and organising returns.
The person we are seeking must be a highly motivated self starter with a desire to achieve. He or she will be of professional appearance and possess very good interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus. The person must be flexible as our business is customer driven and we have to be able to react quickly when called
Preferred but not Essential Technical Skills
- Strong Technical Aptitude
- Excellent Diagnostic Skills
- PC hardware and software
- Must have experience installing Maintenance kits, fuser units.
- EPOS Installation knowledge
- Installation and maintenance of hardware and software
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of service request activities, using appropriate quality assurance processes to ensure that support is carried out in accordance with agreed standards, methods and procedure’s provided to all users.
- Sharing information and best practice amongst your team
Customer Skill’s
Ability to communicate clearly with customer’s. Sense of ownership of the customer’s problem. Flexibility to work around customer’s time frame –
Technical Skills
- Experience with Windows operating systems
- VPN Setup.
- Experience with laptop and PC assembly, installation of printers and network hardware, and configuration of telephones and other IT equipment.
- Information Security awareness
- Comms, network experience
Education
- Technical Certificate /Diploma or equivalent experience
- MCITP (Desirable)
Communication
- Good written and verbal communication skills but also the ability to create/seek understanding through effective questioning, listening and clarification.

Other Requirements
- There will be occasional after-hours support and maintenance work, which may include weekends and there will be a moderate amount of heavy lifting involved (moving computers, servers, monitors, etc).
