Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our team in providing exceptional care within a care home environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with care plans and organisational policies
- Oversee the implementation of individualised care plans, adjusting approaches as necessary to meet residents’ needs
- Support residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and meal preparation
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to legal and organisational standards
- Foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes residents’ dignity and independence
- Assist with organising activities and social engagement programmes for residents
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home setting
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to coordinate resident care
Skills
- Proven experience in senior or supervisory roles within a care home setting or senior care environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team of carers
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals
- Competence in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Ability to utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes effectively
- Valid driving licence is desirable for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to residential care environments
