We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to join the Pall-Ex Hub Operations team. The role involves daily planning and resource management to ensure service and cost requirements are met.
The role is offered on a permanent basis and is an office based role.
Working hours
Monday to Friday – 14:00 - 22:30 (40 hours per week)
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure Daily planning service and cost requirements are met
- Plan all General haulage routes efficiently using KPIs
- Ensure all drivers are contacted/monitored daily
- Monitor using inhouse tracking systems and technology
- Ensure all drivers hold the relevant entitlement for the vehicles they are driving
- Ensure all drivers remain legally compliant and driving hours are monitored
- Work with the Operations manager to deliver a 1st class service
- Liaise with existing and find new General Haulage customers
- Build a large general customer base
- Achieve set revenue targets monitored by KPIs
Strengths, Skills and Competencies
- Previous experience in a Transport Planner role
- Knowledge of Driver Working Time Directives
- Confident telephone manner and verbal written communication skills
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- High level of accuracy and confidentiality
- Integrity and professional attitude
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Confidence to problem solve
- Excellent IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
