We are currently recruiting for a Repair and Maintenance Operative to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across the Midlands area. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-performing team, working on critical infrastructure projects that make a real difference to communities.
Role Purpose
To support the repair, maintenance, and installation of clean water network assets, working alongside an experienced Team Leader to deliver safe, high-quality services to customers across the network.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within the utilities industry. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the repair, maintenance, and installation of clean water network assets.
- Assist with excavation, reinstatement, and general site activities.
- Safely use tools, equipment, vehicles, and plant in line with training and company procedures.
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, and water hygiene requirements.
- Maintain safe, clean, and secure work sites.
- Assist with traffic management and site safety measures where required.
- Work alongside the Team Leader to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.
- Communicate professionally with customers, the public, and other stakeholders.
- Complete basic documentation and report any incidents, defects, or safety concerns.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to build skills and knowledge.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Good work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety.
Desirable
- Experience in utilities, construction, civil engineering, highways, groundwork, or a similar outdoor operational environment.
- Experience using hand tools and equipment.
- Understanding of health and safety practices.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn. Previous clean water industry experience is not essential, as full training and support will be provided while working alongside an experienced Team Leader.
