Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Freelance Chefs of all levels to join our culinary team. This role offers the flexibility to work on a freelance basis, delivering exceptional food experiences across various settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, leadership qualities, and experience in food production and service. This position is perfect for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and are committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality.
Offering positions across Sussex in various establishments ranging from pubs, cafes, care homes*, restaurants, rosette establishments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, ensuring quality and presentation meet established standards
- Supervise food production processes, maintaining efficiency and consistency in all culinary operations
- Manage team members, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times
- Coordinate with clients or event organisers to plan menus and customise offerings according to requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to hygiene standards
- Assist in training new staff or interns, sharing expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety protocols
- Serve dishes to customers or guests in a professional manner, ensuring excellent customer service
Requirements
- Proven experience in culinary roles within hospitality or restaurant environments
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable
- Knowledge of food production processes and kitchen operations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- Experience in restaurant service or hospitality settings is advantageous
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen
- Flexibility to adapt to different working environments and client needs
- Level 2 food safety and Allergens certificates up to date**
