Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks to ensure a smooth finish before painting or decorating.
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other tools.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and client specifications.
- Mix paints and colours accurately to match desired shades.
- Protect surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during the decorating process.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition; report any repairs needed.
- Collaborate with clients or project managers to determine colour schemes and design preferences.
- Complete projects within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating is preferred.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between sites.
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
- Good physical fitness; capable of working at heights and in confined spaces if required.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the trade.
Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
