ARRA Distribution is a UK based logistics company, specialising in Temperature Controlled Distribution.
We are seeking a professional Driver Trainer/Assessor who has a clean C+E (Class 1) Licence and a minimum of 5 yrs Class 1 driving experience who also has the skills and knowledge required to carry out driver assessments and training along with vehicle spots checks and audits. This role will be based at our head office site in Cross Hands – Llwyn-Yr-Eos, Parc Menter, Cross Hands, LLANELLI, Carms, SA14 6RA.
Role Overview:
This is a full time position. We operate 24/7 so the ideal applicant will need to be flexible enough to accommodate both early starts and later finishes.
Duties and Responsibilities will include but not restricted to:
· Assessing the abilities of new drivers employed and agency.
· Carrying out new driver inductions.
· Identifying and delivering any training and re-training.
· Carrying out customer specific training – such as store delivering.
· Vehicle familiarisation training.
· Supporting the Transport Manager in debriefing infringements and coaching drivers in reducing infringements.
· Carrying out spot checks on vehicles before they depart depot, and ensuring drivers have carried out the processes for checks and defect reporting correctly.
· Completing vehicle and driver audits.
· Delivering ‘Tool Box’ talks to ensure drivers are kept up to date with current legislation.
· Ensuring any queries in relation to tacho rules/WTD are dealt with from drivers.
· Providing support and knowledge in accident investigations.
· Coaching on Safe Driving, Accident & Fuel Focus Development.
· Ensuring the fleet standards are upheld at all times, in relation to vehicles and drivers.
· Any other duties required.

Skills and Experience Required:
· Full C+E (Class 1) HGV Licence with no points or endorsements and a minimum of 5 years ‘on the road’ experience.
· Up to date CPC and valid Digicard
· RTITB qualification or equivalent is desirable.
· Previous driver assessment/instructor experience an advantage.
· Current working knowledge of WTD and all relevant transport legislation.
· Excellent communication skills and a desire to teach others
· A positive attitude
· Good level of IT skills to include microsoft office, email, word and excel.
