Wheelie Bin Cleaner / Driver – Peterborough
£12.71 per hour | 40 hours per week | Monday–Saturday | Monthly pay
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and physically fit Wheelie Bin Cleaner / Driver to join our team in Peterborough. This is a fast-paced, physical job. You’ll be driving between customers’ addresses throughout the day, cleaning wheelie bins to our company standard and making sure the job is completed efficiently and professionally.
You will be working independently for much of the day, so we need someone who is trustworthy, punctual, organised and able to manage their time well.
The role
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Driving to customers’ addresses across Peterborough and surrounding areas
- Following a daily route and completing jobs within the required timeframe
- Cleaning and sanitising wheelie bins to the company standard
- Loading and preparing the van at the beginning of each shift
- Filling the van with water and ensuring cleaning products, gloves and other equipment are ready
- Keeping the van clean and organised throughout the day
- Emptying waste water and cleaning/emptying the vacuum tank at the end of the shift
- Reporting damaged bins, customer issues or equipment problems to management
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Keeping in regular contact with management throughout the day
- Answering your phone when contacted by management.
- Working safely and following company procedures
About you:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a full UK driving licence
- Is physically fit and comfortable lifting heavy items/equipment
- Is comfortable working with rubbish, dirty water, unpleasant smells and general waste
- Is happy working outdoors in different weather conditions
- Can work at a fast pace and manage a busy daily route
- Is punctual, reliable and takes pride in their work
- Has good communication and customer service skills
- Is comfortable working independently
- Is confident using a phone and staying in contact with management
- Has a positive, hardworking attitude
- Takes care of company vehicles and equipment
Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided, but you must have the right attitude and be prepared for a physically demanding job.
Hours
40 hours per week
The service operates Monday–Saturday between 9:00am and 5:00pm, with working days arranged to provide 40 hours per week.
Flexibility may occasionally be required depending on the workload and route.
