About Us
Swiss Farm is a well-established holiday and touring park on the edge of Henley-on-Thames, set in a quiet rural location a short walk from town. The Farm Kitchen is our café, open to park guests and local trade for breakfast and lunch, with evening themed nights (Pizza, Fish Fridays, Taste of the World, Italian), takeaway, and small private functions.
It's a small, busy kitchen with a tight team. We produce good food, cooked properly, without the ego.
The Role
You'll work as part of the kitchen team under the Head Chef and Sous Chef, covering prep and service across breakfast, lunch, and our evening menus. The work is hands-on and varied. No two days are identical.
Day to day you'll be:
- Prep work across all sections — mise en place, sauce work, portion control
- Working on a station during service — breakfast, lunch, or evening depending on the rota
- Contributing to the smooth running of service and supporting senior chefs
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards throughout
- Helping with stock rotation and delivery checks
- Working across our themed evening menus when rostered
- Pot wash
What We're Looking For
You don't need years of experience — but you do need to be serious about food and reliable under pressure. We're a small team, so attitude matters as much as skill.
We'd expect you to have:
- Some kitchen experience — whether professional or through a strong personal interest in cooking
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to complete one promptly)
- The ability to work a mix of morning and evening shifts, including weekends
- A calm head and a tidy section
- The right to work in the UK
It would be a bonus if you have:
- Experience across more than one section (breakfast, grill, pasta, desserts)
- Familiarity with a busy café or restaurant environment
- An interest in developing your skills and taking on more responsibility over time
