Cake Baker - The Village Bakery
Full Time | Sunday - Thursday
MondayThursday: 7:00am–3:30pm
Sunday: Flexible start time - 8.5 hour shift
We’re looking for a Cake Baker to join our busy cake department at The Village Bakery.
This is a hands-on production baking role, making a wide range of cakes and bakes for our customers across Hertfordshire and Essex.
The role will include:
- Baking sponge cakes
- Making brownies, blondies, traybakes and loaf cakes
- Weighing and preparing ingredients
- Mixing and preparing batters to our recipes
- Producing larger batches accurately and consistently
- Preparing tins and trays for production
- Ensuring products are baked to a consistently high standard
- Keeping your work area clean, tidy and organised
- Following food hygiene and allergen procedures
- Supporting the wider cake team when required
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for baking
- Is reliable, punctual and well organised
- Can work efficiently in a busy production environment
- Has good attention to detail
- Can follow recipes accurately and consistently
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Is comfortable with the physical nature of bakery work
- Is available to work Sunday–Thursday
- Has their own transport due to our location
Previous bakery or commercial kitchen experience would be an advantage, but we’re also happy to consider someone with good baking knowledge, the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
