PPA Primary Teacher Opportunities – September 2026
September is one of the busiest recruitment periods for schools across Birmingham. NOW Education works closely with a number of Academy Trusts and Local Authority (LA) schools that require experienced PPA Primary Teachers to provide high-quality classroom cover across the academic year.
We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed teachers who can confidently deliver engaging lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 while ensuring continuity of learning during teachers' Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time.
The Role
As a PPA Primary Teacher, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of year groups.
- Maintain a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of different classes and pupils.
- Follow each school's behaviour and safeguarding policies.
- Assess pupils' learning during lessons and provide feedback where required.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and school leaders to ensure a smooth learning experience.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have recent experience teaching within UK Primary Schools.
- Be confident teaching across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
- Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Be flexible, reliable, and able to adapt quickly to different school environments.
- Have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching practices.
Please note: If you do not hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), this role is not suitable, as our partner schools require all PPA Teachers to have UK QTS.
