Job Summary
Knotts Bakery is seeking a reliable and hardworking Bread Slicing & Packaging Assistant to join our bakery production team. This role focuses on the slicing, packaging, and preparation of freshly baked bread products for distribution and sale. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced bakery environment, ensuring all products are packaged accurately, safely, and to the high standards expected at Knotts Bakery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within bakery production and food manufacturing.
Duties
- Slice bread products using bakery slicing equipment safely and efficiently
- Package bread products according to Knotts Bakery standards, ensuring correct labelling and sealing
- Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet appearance, freshness, and packaging requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the production and packaging area in line with food hygiene and HACCP standards
- Operate and monitor packaging and slicing machinery to support smooth daily production
- Follow all health and safety procedures when handling food products and equipment
- Assist with stock rotation and report packaging or production issues promptly to supervisors
- Work collaboratively with the bakery team to meet daily production targets and maintain product quality
Requirements
- Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP procedures is desirable
- Previous experience in bakery production, food preparation, or packaging is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
- Basic understanding of machinery operation or willingness to learn
- Good organisational and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions carefully

This role involves early morning shifts from approximately 4:00am to 9:00am. It would particularly suit someone seeking part-time hours that allow availability during the daytime for family or personal commitments.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
