Role Overview
To manage the Estimating and Commercial function of the Kent and Special Projects Regions, based out of our Essex Office.
The role will include, but will not limited to, pricing and managing soft and hard landscaping works, fencing works and small scale groundworks.
You will report directly to the Commercial and Regional Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and measure soft and hard landscaping, fencing and associated works, from drawings to form tender and variation estimates.
- Build rates and source quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors to suit projects.
- Use digital take off software and AIW software to create price and budget to stakeholder requirements.
- Issue enquiries, evaluate and analyse sub-contractor quotes and raise orders for sub-contractors.
- Identity scope gaps, exclusions and overlaps for creating caveats and T’s & C’s.
- Track market trends and work with other stakeholders to maintain databases.
- Recommend specification upgrades and value engineering opportunities.
- Engage with buying, production and other departments to ensure a streamlined service.
- Liaise and manage relationships with client representatives.
- Raise variations on system (Eque2) and maintain records of variation support documentation.
- Ensure drawing updates and pricing changes are captured, and we are remaining contractually compliant.
- Track performance and contract win success rates.
- Support the monthly application and invoicing process, working closely with the Senior Credit Controller and production team to prepare regional worksheets, record completed works, and issue applications and invoices to clients for payment.
Risk Management:
- Monitor risks, propose mitigation strategies and advise on investment and/or funding decisions.
Process Improvement:
- Identify potential opportunities to improve processes, internal controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Provide guidance and training to colleagues to strengthen resource through regional growth, performance management and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Departmental Administrative & Office Support:
Perform general office and administrative tasks when required.
Support other teams and Directors in day-to-day role.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ensuring software is up to date.
Business continuity management.
Filing and document management.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work proactively and reactively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with multi-entity environments.
Strong analytical and numerical skills showing acute attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously and as a team member across entire business.

Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
