Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loft Insulation Installer and Loft Boarding specialist to enhance residential energy efficiency and optimize attic space. In this role, you will be responsible for installing high-quality loft insulation to improve thermal performance, as well as fitting durable loft boarding to create safe, accessible storage areas. Your expertise will help homeowners reduce energy costs and improve their living environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a range of construction skills to deliver top-notch results.
Duties
- Measure and assess loft spaces to determine the appropriate insulation and boarding requirements
- Safely install various types of loft insulation using hand tools, power tools, and proper safety equipment
- Fit sturdy loft boarding panels, ensuring secure and level surfaces for storage purposes
- Prepare work areas by clearing obstructions and protecting surrounding structures during installation
- Follow technical schematics and construction plans to ensure precise installation standards
- Use a variety of construction tools including saws, drills, screwdrivers, and welding equipment as needed
- Conduct quality checks post-installation to confirm insulation coverage and boarding stability
- Maintain a clean work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations throughout each project
Skills
- Proven experience in roofing, carpentry, or general construction projects involving insulation or loft work
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment for precise installations
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans for accurate project execution
- Familiarity with welding techniques, masonry work, plastering, and construction painting is advantageous
- Strong understanding of electrical systems or plumbing relevant to attic spaces is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials and working at heights safely
