Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Go Kart Marshall / Mechanic to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of our go kart track. This role involves overseeing the smooth running of karts, performing repairs, and providing excellent customer service to our guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, and be capable of handling physical tasks such as heavy lifting. This is a paid position suitable for individuals passionate about motorsports and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the operation of go karts during sessions to ensure safety and compliance with rules
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on karts, including tyre checks, oil levels, and general mechanical upkeep
- Perform repairs on karts as needed, utilising schematics, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Assemble new or replacement parts for karts following technical diagrams and specifications
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues swiftly to minimise downtime and maximise guest satisfaction
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of track equipment before and after operational hours
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with safety instructions and answering queries about the karts and track operations
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks related to equipment movement or maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair or maintenance roles
- Familiarity with schematics, assembly procedures, and technical diagrams
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance apparatus
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and conduct repairs accordingly
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in safety checks and maintenance routines
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and working on your feet for extended periods
- Previous experience working with go karts or similar recreational equipment is desirable but not essential
