Job Title: Production Planner
Salary: £40,000 - £47,500 DOE
Location: Christchurch / Hybrid working (2 days working from home following induction)
Hours: 37.5 hours
Contract: Permanent
Mar-Key Group are an established business based in Christchurch, Dorset. We design, manufacture and build temporary and permanent structures for large well-known events and industrial solutions. We are recruiting for a highly experienced MRP Production Planner to join our manufacturing team to continue the implementation and optimising of MRP. This position will report into the Manufacturing Manager and will work closely with our Supply Chain and Stock Controller and Sales and Design teams to plan and schedule the production of materials in our busy engineering department.
The Key responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Production Scheduling/MRP
- Implement, optimise and maintain MRP (MS Dynamics) system data to improve planning ability and forecasting
- Develop, maintain and adjust detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders and production capacity
- Assess production capacity and recommend adjustments to ensure that the facility can meet forecasted demand
- Track and monitor daily production performance, identify potential delays or issues and make adjustments to schedules to minimise disruptions
- Propose alternative production plans
- Address and resolve any issues that could affect the production process
Data Analysing and Reporting
- Collect, analyse and report on production data, such as output, efficiency and inventory levels
- Use data to identify trends, areas for improvement and opportunities for cost reduction
Supporting Continuous Improvement
- Positively contribute to production and management meetings
- Collaborate with other departments
- Continually review processes and work to improve efficiency
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience in a business as a Production Planner in an SME organisation
- Excellent knowledge of production processes and planning
- Extensive experience of implementing and using MRP systems (MS Dynamics would be advantageous)
- A confident approach and strong communication skills to co-ordinate with multiple departments, comfortable to professionally challenge decisions
- Ability to analyse data and make recommendations
- A proactive and reactive approach with excellent attention to detail and a logical approach to finding solutions
