Abingdon & Witney College is expanding its Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support team. We are are currently looking for energetic, and enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication skills, to join our inclusive and student-focused environment.
As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of learning and support needs across various educational settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a college that values diversity, inclusion, and personal development.
Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to students with SEND needs, both in and outside the classroom.
- Assist in facilitating group workshop activities and classroom learning.
- Offer pastoral support to help students thrive socially and emotionally.
- Adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and the wider support team to ensure a consistent and effective learning experience.
- Promote independence and confidence in learners through tailored support.
Essential Experience:

Previous experience working with individuals with SEND in an educational or care setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing student needs.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in an educational context.
