An exciting opportunity has arisen within Abdominal Medicine and Surgery CSU for a Band 5 Staff Nurse within J48 Inpatient Dialysis Unit. We are looking to recruit to J48, and we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team.
J48 is an acute setting providing renal dialysis for both acute and chronic patients with kidney failure. The main HD unit at St James’s Hospital provides dialysis support for 95 patients, operating a morning and afternoon shift for new patients and those who need a high level of medical care, and a ‘twilight’ shift for patients who prefer to dialyse during the evening.
The role is to provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care. You will deliver care without supervision and take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of patients and at all times promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate patient care. The role will involve taking charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse.
