The Role
As a Live-in Carer, you will provide personalised support to a client in their home, helping them maintain their independence, dignity, safety and quality of life.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting with personal care, including bathing, dressing and mobility
- Supporting with medication in accordance with care plans and prescribed instructions
- Preparing nutritious meals according to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting safe mobility and transfers in line with training and care plans
- Responding calmly and professionally to behaviours that may present challenges
- Carrying out light household tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Accompanying the client to appointments, activities and essential errands where required
- Observing changes in the client's health and wellbeing and reporting concerns promptly
- Working closely with family members, healthcare professionals and the wider care team
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in care, support work, assisted living, domiciliary care or a similar role is desirable.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, patient and dependable
- Comfortable working independently within a client's home
- Confident communicating with clients, families and professionals
- Able to follow care plans and medication procedures safely
- Physically capable of carrying out the practical aspects of the role
- Committed to providing respectful, person-centred care
Experience with dementia, Alzheimer's, elderly care, complex care or end-of-life care is an advantage, but appropriate training and support will be provided.
