Factory & Dispatch Operative
Location: Telford, Shropshire
Pay: £14.50 per hour
Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Working days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
About the role
Stairplan is an established staircase manufacturer based in Telford, manufacturing bespoke staircases for customers throughout the UK.
We are looking for a reliable, practical and hardworking Factory & Dispatch Operative to join our team.
This is a varied, hands-on role. The successful person will help keep our factory and dispatch operation running smoothly and will work alongside our staircase manufacturing team.
Main duties
- Packing staircase components ready for delivery
- Organising completed staircase parts and ensuring all components for each order are kept together
- Checking orders are complete before dispatch
- Moving and positioning staircase components around the factory
- Assisting other members of the team with two-person lifts where components are too large or heavy for one person
- Preparing completed staircases for collection and delivery
- Loading our delivery vehicles safely and carefully
- Helping to keep the factory and dispatch areas clean, tidy and organised
- General assistance around the factory when required
Previous staircase manufacturing experience is not required, as training will be provided.
What is more important to us is finding the right person. We are looking for somebody who is:
- Reliable and punctual
- Practical and willing to work
- Physically capable of carrying out a hands-on factory role
- Careful when handling finished products
- Organised and able to keep different customer orders together correctly
- Able to work without constant supervision
- Happy to help other members of the team when required
- Looking for a permanent position with an established local company
