About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Practitioners to join our team at Bright Futures Children’s Care Ltd, supporting children and young people in our new residential home based in Abbey Wood, London SE2 0BP.
As a Residential Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people, and supporting their emotional and developmental growth. You will contribute to creating a positive, nurturing, and stable home environment where each child can thrive.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with complex emotional or behavioural needs (preferred but not essential).
- A fun, empathetic, and patient personality with the ability to think flexibly and demonstrate integrity.
- The ability to understand and respond sensitively to the needs of children who have experienced trauma or adversity.
- Calmness and resilience when supporting children who may display challenging or distressed behaviours.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to identify and act on potential risks.
- Awareness of child development, attachment, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Strong communication skills with young people, families, and professionals across disciplines.
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
- Experience supporting children or young people in a residential or care setting.
- A clear understanding of the challenges faced by young people who have experienced trauma.
- Full UK driving licence.
- The recruitment and selection process will include a number of safer recruitment checks in line with statutory safeguarding guidance.
Hours and Shift Patterns
- Full-Time and Part-Time hours available: working a minimum of two 12-hour shifts per week is required
- Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Night Shift: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
