Job Summary
The Wellington Arms is a small, traditional backstreet pub in Southampton, serving a strong selection of drinks with a particular focus on real ale. We are looking for someone to come in and hold the managing position with the aim of progressing to fully fledged site manager in the future. This is an ideal position for someone with knowledge of real ale and who is looking to progress within the industry, management experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and maintain service and cleanliness standards.
- Help with leading the team of experienced staff whilst producing weekly rotas in line with labour costs.
- Manage inventory levels and order product accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the hospitality environment.
- Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth among staff.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other managers to strategise on promotional activities and improve service offerings.
Experience
- At least 3 years experience within the trade, any previous supervisory/management position is a bonus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
