King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and organised Ward Clerk to join our Women's Services team, supporting the Gynaecology, Colposcopy, and Maternity departments across our hospital sites. As a key member of the ward team, you will provide high-quality administrative and clerical support, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of clinical areas.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, and healthcare professionals, delivering a professional, compassionate, and efficient service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication, organisational, and IT skills who enjoys working in a busy healthcare environment and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care through excellent administrative support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of ward administration duties, including admitting patients onto the electronic patient record system, coordinating appointments, arranging patient transport and interpreter services, maintaining accurate records, and handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries. You will support patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, facilitate effective communication between multidisciplinary teams, and ensure information is relayed accurately and confidentially.
The role also involves welcoming patients and visitors, maintaining reception and clerical areas, assisting with data collection, and contributing to a safe, organised, and patient-focused environment. Working closely with nursing and clinical staff, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care while demonstrating the Trust’s values of being kind, respectful, and working together as one team.
The Trust provides a full range of local and specialist services across its five sites.
