We’re looking for a creative, ambitious Chef de Partie who’s ready to take the next step in their culinary career.
At The Wayfarer, we do things differently. We’re a family-run Brewpub with 27 years of success, a passionate kitchen team, and a reputation for imaginative, high-quality food. We grow our own ingredients in our Kitchen Garden, brew our own beer, and work with fresh, seasonal produce every day.
We’ve just undergone a major renovation and are entering an exciting new chapter—with bold menus, a bigger team, and even bigger ideas. This is your chance to be part of it.
The Role
As Chef de Partie, you’ll play a key role in delivering consistently excellent food across our evolving menus. You'll have the chance to learn from experienced chefs, experiment with fresh ingredients, and contribute to exciting new dishes.
We're not a chain. There are no microwaves. We cook properly, and we’re proud of that.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running your own section in a busy kitchen service
- Prepping and cooking dishes to a high standard with fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to learn and develop
- Contributing ideas to new dishes and menus
- Helping to train and support more junior team members
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and organisation
What We’re Looking For
- A solid foundation of experience in a busy kitchen (not necessarily fine dining)
- Passion for great food and a genuine desire to learn
- A positive attitude and a strong team ethic
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence running a section but also willingness to take direction and grow
- Interest in fresh produce, sustainability, and new ideas
