Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and cooking of meals in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years experience in a similar position, have excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
- Cook dishes according to provided recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Support with meal assembly and presentation for service
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary setting is t essential though training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience working in a restaurant or catering service is necessary
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation
