Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fall Protection Lead Hand Engineer to oversee and coordinate safety protocols related to fall protection systems and height safety across various projects. This pivotal role involves leading a team of engineers and safety personnel to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to hazard identification and risk mitigation.
Duties
- Lead the design, implementation, and inspection of fall protection systems on-site, ensuring adherence to relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of safety awareness and professional development.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses related to fall hazards in diverse work environments.
- Coordinate with contract managers, site supervisors, and clients to integrate fall protection measures seamlessly into ongoing operations.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and inspection of fall arrest systems, ensuring all equipment is compliant and functioning correctly.
- Develop comprehensive safety plans, procedures, and training programmes tailored to specific project needs.
- Preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory updates, and technological advancements in fall protection solutions.
Experience
- Experience as a Engineer specialising in fall protection systems within construction or industrial environments is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams in high-risk settings.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Prior experience conducting risk assessments, installations and inspections related to fall protection is highly desirable.
Role
- Mainly Field Based
- Frequent travel including overnight lodging
- Surveying, Installing and inspecting a varity of Fall Protection & Height Safety Equipment
- Possess excellent customer service skills in fulfilling the needs of our clients
- Assist with mentoring operatives through their training
- Confident with installing height safety equipment, cable systems, guardrails, access ladders etc.
- Completing Full in Depth Reports on any works completed.
What You Require
- Experience within the height safety industry
- A flexible approch to work with the ability to travel and work away from home when required
- Valid Full UK Manual Driving License
- Ability to use own initiative & problem solve
- Strong verbal communication skills
- CSCS card (preferable)

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
