Job Summary
We are looking for a Business Analyst to support a major retail transformation across in store and digital channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing, designing, and implementing complex business systems to optimise organisational efficiency. A Business Systems Analyst (BSA) bridges the gap between business needs and technology. They analyze existing operations, gather requirements, and design solutions—such as software upgrades or data integrations—to improve efficiency. BSAs frequently map data flows and translate business objectives into technical specifications for development teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Requirement Gathering: Interview stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into clear functional and technical specifications.
- System Design: Design data flows, source-to-target mappings, and system architectures to optimize IT infrastructure.
- Integration & Data Analysis: Work across databases, APIs, and cloud platforms (such as SQL, Oracle, or JSON) to ensure smooth system interoperability.
- Project Management: Oversee system implementation projects from start to finish, managing risk and scoping.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between executive management, product owners, and technical development teams.
- Previous Business Analysis experience within financial services, or strong subject matter expertise gained within a finance or regulatory reporting environment.
- Experience working on change, transformation, or process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate data, identify issues, and implement practical solutions.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong documentation and process-mapping capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a highly numerate approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, alongside collaboration and process-mapping tools.

- Technical Acumen: Familiarity with databases, system architecture, and software development lifecycles (SDLC).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication to articulate complex technical ideas to non-technical staff.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills to review processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose effective solutions.
- Conduct business analysis activities in support of strategic data and process optimisation initiatives within Regulatory Reporting.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather requirements, create user stories, and support prioritisation activities.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across multiple departments and international locations.
- Lead and contribute to project workstreams focused on the integration and utilisation of strategic data within regulatory reporting systems.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing updates and reporting to stakeholders and senior management.
- Support issue resolution and escalate risks or concerns where appropriate.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of finance and regulatory change initiatives within a dynamic and evolving environment.
Pay: £31,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
