Overview
We are seeking a skilled MET Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle body and structural components with precision and efficiency. Applicants should possess a solid understanding of mechanical systems, be comfortable using hand and power tools, and be physically capable of heavy lifting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspections of vehicle bodies to identify damage or defects
- Repair or replace damaged panels, frames, and structural components using appropriate tools and techniques
- Utilise hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs with accuracy and safety
- Perform measurements and alignments to ensure proper fitment of parts
- Assist in the preparation of vehicles for painting or finishing processes
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to complete repairs efficiently and effectively
- Document repair procedures and communicate progress to supervisors
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MET Technician or in a similar automotive repair role is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical diagrams and manuals
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, screwdrivers, etc.
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and pneumatic equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, handling vehicle parts and equipment weighing up to 25kg or more
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive repair or bodywork are desirable but not essential
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
