Mega Marble is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and installers of natural stone. We work with a wide range of high-quality materials, including marble, granite, limestone, quartzite and onyx, producing bespoke stonework for high-end homes, hotels and commercial properties across London and the South East.
Due to our continued workload, we are looking for a new person to join our stone polishing and finishing team.
Previous stone polishing experience would be very welcome, but it is not essential. We are also interested in applicants who are confident and competent using hand and power tools and would like to learn the specialist skills involved in stone polishing, finishing and bonding.
Full in-house training will be provided by our highly experienced team of stonemasons.
The Role
The role involves using a variety of hand and power tools to shape, polish and finish natural stone including marble, granite, limestone and quartzite.
You will work on a wide variety of bespoke products, including:
- Kitchen worktops and islands
- Vanity tops and bath surrounds
- Reception desks and bar tops
- Flooring and wall features
- Fireplaces
- Bespoke stone furniture and architectural features
What We’re Looking For
For trainee applicants, you should have:
- Good practical experience using hand and power tools, with the confidence to use them safely and correctly, including basic set-up and daily checks.
- The ability to measure accurately in millimetres.
- The ability to read and follow simple drawings, sketches and technical instructions and accurately produce work to the required dimensions.
- A naturally practical and hands-on approach to work, with a good understanding of how things are assembled and put together.
- Good attention to detail and the patience to produce a high-quality finish.
- A willingness to learn and undertake significant on-the-job training.
- The ability to concentrate for extended periods and work carefully with a steady hand.
- An understanding that this is a physical, workshop-based role, involving manual handling and working in a stone manufacturing environment.
- A willingness to work as part of the wider production team and assist with other workshop tasks when required.
For applicants with previous stone polishing, masonry, fabrication or similar experience, we would be very interested in hearing from you and discussing the level of experience you could bring to the team.
