The Boxford Group, a family-owned group of businesses in East Anglia, is looking for a Head of People & Culture to join the team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and developing our People and Culture strategy and leading a high-performing and values driven workplace.
This role partners with senior managers to support business objectives and ensure an exceptional employee experience across the employee lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Design and implement initiatives that foster engagement, inclusion and wellbeing.
Lead recruitment to attract, hire and retain the best talent while following a fair, inclusive and legally compliant hiring process.
Work with senior managers to identify skills and capabilities needed, both current and future, so that people and business needs are met.
Work with the in-house Marketing team to build a people brand that promotes the culture and benefits of working with us.
Support managers with performance management and personal development.
Support career development, learning pathways and succession planning, utilising training and apprenticeships as appropriate.
Review, update and maintain HR polices, contracts and the Employee Handbook ensuring compliance with employment legislation and taking advice from our HR Compliance Advice Service.
Support the HR Assistant in all aspects of their role.
Lead employee relations cases, including performance issues, grievances, disciplinaries and redundancies with fairness and empathy, ensuring full compliance with UK employment law.
Ensure that all People technology and systems support efficiency and that their use is maximised.
Ensure that all administrative processes within the People area of the business are designed to support management processes and provide a positive employee experience.
Produce ad hoc and planned data-rich people reports, as required.
Manage the monthly Group HR meetings and record agreed actions.
Guide and advise assistant HR Administrators across the Group.
This role is being offered on a full-time basis.
Essential Criteria
Proven experience in a senior HR or People & Culture leadership role.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
Experience collaborating with senior leadership to influence organisational and procedural change.
Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
An empathetic and people-centric approach.
Achieved CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification in HR/People Management.
