*An exciting opportunity has become available at Sunny Day's Nursery for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team!
The position will be floating within the nursery with a scheduled office day's each week.
The required candidate will be contracted for either:
38 hours per week, Monday-Friday working 7.30-6.00pm
About the nursery:
Sunny Day's is a small, homely 59 place nursery situated on Chester Green in Derby.
The nursery was last inspected by OFSTED in April 2023 and was graded 'Good' in all areas. The setting has three units; Babies, Toddlers and Preschool and boasts a small team of fantastic, qualified nursery practitioners.
Main responsibilities:
- To cover the role of the nursery manager in her absence
- To deputise for the nursery manager
- Responsible for complying with the Statutory Framework and ensure it is implemented within the setting
- Alongside the nursery manager, to be a designated safeguarding lead for the setting
Main duties:
-Assist the nursery manager in providing effective day to day management of the nursery and deputise in their absence
- To work in partnership with parents and carers to meet children’s care and learning needs
- As part of the leadership team oversee the observation, assessment and planning system to ensure that children’s individual learning and development is promoted
- Ensure that staff use a wide range of teaching and learning strategies to engage and motivate children to make progress.
- Support the manager with administration duties that contribute in evidence gathering for Ofsted
- Liaise with all external professionals and agencies to ensure the nursery and families are supported
- Contribute to the safety of the children and ensure you have a secure understanding of risk assessment and health and safety legislation
- Support the manager in making appropriate decisions in relation to staffing and staff deployment including recruitment, inductions ect
- Support the manager with the development of staff through training, observations, role modelling, coaching, supervisions, appraisals and staff meetings
- Support and contribute to policy development and updates
- Contribute to the self-evaluation of the nursery and support the development of rigorous action plans to ensure the nursery continues to develop the quality of the provision
- Support with analysing COHORTS of children's development and creating targets for the nursery
- To support the nursery manager with leading team meetings
- Responsible for receipting of fees.
- To support with showing prospective parents around the nursery including registering new children
- To contribute with applying for funding and auditing attendance
