Job Purpose
To support the fabrication and manufacturing operations of Gartsherrie Engineering by carrying out general workshop duties, maintaining a safe and tidy working environment, and assisting fabrication personnel in the efficient completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist fabricators, welders and other workshop personnel with daily tasks.
- Operate handheld grinding tools to clean, prepare and finish metal components.
- Prepare materials for fabrication processes.
- Move materials, components and equipment around the workshop safely.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
- Dispose of waste materials in designated areas.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries and collections.
- Support stock handling and storage activities.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment and work areas.
- Assist with painting, packaging and preparation of completed fabrications for dispatch.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
- Report hazards, defects or unsafe conditions to management.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support workshop operations.

Skills and Experience
Essential
- Good work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work safely in a fabrication workshop environment.
- Capable of manual handling duties.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous experience in an engineering, fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Basic understanding of workshop health and safety requirements.

Hours of Work
Normal working hours will be 7am-4pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 7am-12pm, with additional hours as required by business needs.
