Duties
- Safely operate delivery vans and to transport goods to various locations
- Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo, often involving heavy lifting, with attention to proper handling procedures
- Verify delivery contents against orders and obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle inspections
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role, with a solid safety record
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and navigation tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely in warehouse environments
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading/unloading procedures
- Demonstrated responsibility in managing time efficiently and maintaining punctuality
