We are a well-established and growing food wholesale business supplying cafés, restaurants, schools, care homes and other catering customers across the East Midlands.
As our business continues to grow and embrace new technology, we're looking for a proactive, customer-focused Customer Sales Advisor to join our Internal Sales team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships with customers, identifying sales opportunities and delivering outstanding service.
The Role
Working as part of our busy sales office, you'll be responsible for supporting existing customers, helping to grow sales and ensuring every customer receives a first-class experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships with existing customers
- Speaking with customers by telephone to understand their requirements
- Processing and managing customer orders accurately using our business systems
- Promoting new products, seasonal ranges and special offers
- Identifying opportunities to increase customer spend through upselling and cross-selling
- Following up enquiries and helping convert opportunities into sales
- Working closely with the external sales team to support customer growth
- Liaising with purchasing, warehouse and transport teams to ensure excellent customer service
- Using technology and AI-assisted systems to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience
- Providing general administrative support within the sales office
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Enjoys building relationships over the telephone
- Has previous experience in internal sales, customer service or sales support
- Has a commercial mindset and enjoys identifying opportunities to increase sales
- Is organised, accurate and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Is confident using computer systems and learning new technology
- Works well as part of a team while taking ownership of their own customers
Experience using Merlin software would be a distinct advantage, although full training will be provided.
