Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester/Mechanic to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests and providing essential mechanical repairs and maintenance. Duties
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal and safety standards, accurately assessing vehicle condition.
- Perform routine mechanical repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring efficient resolution.
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments as required.
- Assist with vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely when moving or installing vehicle components or equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out, including test results and repair documentation.
- Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repairs and diagnostics.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as spanners, screwdrivers, and socket sets.
- Competence with power tools necessary for various repair tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate testing and repairs.
