Job Title: Motorcycle Workshop Controller

Job Summary
We are looking for a Motorcycle Workshop Foreman for our busy multi franchise dealership in Peterborough. They will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the motorcycle workshop, ensuring high-quality repair and maintenance work, managing technicians, maintaining safety standards, and delivering excellent customer service. The role involves supervising workshop staff, coordinating workflow, monitoring productivity, and ensuring all motorcycles are serviced according to manufacturer and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop Operations
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily workshop activities.
- Allocate repair and maintenance jobs to technicians based on skill level and workload.
- Monitor work progress and ensure jobs are completed within agreed timelines.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Assist technicians with complex diagnostics and repairs when required.
- Ensure workshop equipment and tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and support to workshop technicians.
- Stay updated on new motorcycle manufacturer procedures.
Staff Management
- Supervise, motivate, and evaluate workshop personnel.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and performance of technicians.
- Identify training needs and support employee development.
- Promote teamwork and a positive working environment.
Customer Service
- Liaise with service advisors and customers regarding repair requirements and progress updates.
- Assist in resolving technical complaints and customer concerns.
- Ensure customer vehicles are handled professionally and returned in clean, safe condition.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce workshop health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste disposal requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
Inventory & Administration
- Monitor workshop consumables and lube oil usage and report stock requirements.
- Assist with inventory control and parts ordering.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation, and job cards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent experience or qualification in Motorcycle Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of motorcycle repair and maintenance experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Valid full motorcycle licence.
- Experience with diagnostic equipment and workshop management systems.
