Artificial Grass Cambridge Ltd is looking for an experienced, practical and reliable operative to join our growing specialist maintenance team.
We maintain and renovate artificial grass and synthetic sports surfaces at schools, sports clubs and private properties across the region.
This is a hands-on outdoor role for someone who is already comfortable with machinery, manual work and working on customer sites.
We are particularly interested in applicants with a background in grounds maintenance, landscaping, agriculture, turf care, sports surfaces, construction or plant/machinery operation.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a practical outdoor role.
- Experience operating tractors, loaders, sweepers, sprayers or similar machinery.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A good understanding of safe working practices.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- A reliable and professional approach to work.
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of their work.
- The ability to deal professionally with customers and work at schools and sports facilities.
- The physical ability to carry out manual work throughout the working day.
A DBS check is required because some of our work is carried out at schools.
Previous artificial grass experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, we are looking for someone who already has good practical experience and machinery skills.
The work
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Sports surface maintenance.
- Operating specialist machinery and equipment.
- Brushing, cleaning and restoring synthetic surfaces.
- Manual handling and preparation work.
- Loading and unloading equipment.
- Travelling to different customer sites.
- Cleaning and maintaining machinery and vehicles.
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ensuring every job is completed safely and to a high standard.
